In Apple Maps if you put that you don’t want to travel on specific types of roads they will still take you where ever even if there are other roads with similar distances…

I have been using Strava heat maps to plan my routes so far. Both Google and Apple Maps mark 50 mph zones with “share the road” signs as bike lanes near me

There’s an app called Transit, almost completely free (besides dumb stuff like color picking), and I use it all the time, and never once has any of the routes been a dangerous route. I totally recommend it y’all, especially since it’s an app for every mode of transportation! I use it for the bus and my bike! Definitely don’t use google maps, I did once cause I saw a shorter route there, let’s just say I immediately went back to Transit 😭

you can also try your cities transit app. Vegas will give you legit bike routes and tell you which roads are safe, sorta safe, and do not ride unless you wanna die

literally asked me to use stairs with my bike 🫠 like go up 2 stories up to an overhead to pass over the intersection when there were several other ways to cross...💀

Yeah, Google maps and maps in general will generally tell you to go into the most public road and cross it like no deal you’re like no I’m not suicidal and It’s like cross here.

not sure how I got here but thank youuu for the geovelo rec!! in ny google maps marks protected bike lanes and suggested “bike lanes” the same, which can get really tricky. so this app is truly so dope! thank you!!
