PUBLIC STATEMENT: For Justice and Accountability Yesterday, I was physically pushed multiple times by a CID officer — an incident I have on video. I did not provoke any violence; I was simply seeking justice regarding a serious land scam in which I lost nine plots of land. Despite numerous reports, the police have taken no meaningful action against the individual who defrauded me and many others. Yes, I was visibly upset, and I acknowledge expressing my frustration. I am human. When you suffer such a loss and feel abandoned by the very institutions meant to protect you, it becomes difficult to remain silent. But let me be clear: I never incited violence. My anger stemmed from pain, not hatred. Today, while working on a video project for Comium, I received a call and was summoned to the police station. Upon arrival, I was informed that I was being accused of three alleged offenses, including false publication and broadcasting, based on a post where I stated that “a CID officer revolted against me.” That statement was drawn from my personal experience, having been physically confronted and mistreated by an officer while expressing my frustrations. I did not fabricate or spread misinformation — I shared what I personally endured. I want to emphasize again: my posts were never intended to discredit the police as an institution. I hold respect for law enforcement. However, I firmly stand against corruption, injustice, and the abuse of power — wherever it exists. Let it be known: I stand for justice, not violence. I will continue to raise my voice — not only for myself, but for every voiceless Gambian suffering in silence. Silencing victims will never bring justice.
