Wiring a 3-way switch but one wall box only has a single 14-3 wire? 🛠️ This is called a "dead-end" 3-way circuit. Here is the exact wiring layout to get it working safely: ⚠️ Safety First: Always turn off the breaker before touching any wiring! 📍 BOX 2 (The Dead-End Box) 1. White Wire: Wrap the end in black electrical tape (marking it hot). Connect it to the dark Commonscrew. 2. Black & Red Wires: Connect them to the two brass Traveler screws. 3. Connect your ground wire to the green screw. 📍 BOX 1 (The Main Box - Power & Light In) 1. Neutrals: Wire-nut the white power wire and white light wire straight together. (They do not touch the switch). 2. The Switch Leg: Wrap the 14-3 white wire in black tape, then wire-nut it directly to the black wire going to your light. 3. Switch 1: Connect the main hot power wire to the dark Common screw. 4. Travelers: Connect the 14-3 black and red wires to the two brass Traveler screws. 5. Ground your switch and you're done! We call it a back fed 3way. It’s using your neutral as a hot. Usually it’s done if a SL and power are ran into one box. Definitely not the proper way but it works.

FYI hack if you keep your travelers opposite of each other the switches will be both up or down when on or off.

why not just switch and feed? Also your ground is driving me crazy
