The news back in the day were huge in Spain. But yes, they've never cleaned it for 100% or compensate the people accordingly. They just tried to cover it a little bit and be ok with it.

this is like one of the most well known broken arrow incidents. theres plenty more that you dont know about. we had a small nuclear reactor explode too (only killed the 3 men around it and didnt cause much radiation leakage)
