Corinne For The Win :
They started sitting in all my hanging plant pots..and I always would tell them they could keep sitting there that we could hang together. Then they decided to make a nest and lay eggs. The eggs hatched and I watched the mom sit on the baby birds for 2 weeks. I would check on her and the 2 baby’s…and it made me so happy for some reason. Then one day…I went to check on them and they were gone. I got really sad because I think something got in the nest and ate them. Couple days later…the mom came back and there was another egg…4 days later egg was gone. They never came back…I left the nest and the empty plant pot just in case they decide they wanna come back.

When we raised them as domestic birds, we also ate them. I think having an ex that goes with no contact is better than having an ongoing relationship where they eat you.

Oh my God, so true!! I love pigeons and how smart they are. Also, I completely agree about what men have done to women. ✌🏼

Humans bred and domesticated pigeons mostly for eating for thousands of years. We stopped around WWII when we replaced them with industrialized chicken farming.

Anthropomorphic ornithology: pigeons bred organically for 100 million+ years before humanoids, became conditioned and “domesticated” in the last 1,000 years, and then conditioned to live in close proximity to humans, while avoiding us because we are now their greatest threat. They are super survivors though, and will outlast humans in the long run. They’re playing the long game of adaptation and survival.

If she was sitting alone in one place, looking round or fluffy from puffing up her feathers: she likely isnt well, that’s what they do when they are weakened😞 if that’s the case and shes still there or close by: Maybe you could ask in a pigeon rescue group like Palomacy on Facebook?🙏Sadly many vets/wildlife rescues euthanize them because they aren’t considered wildlife but feral, but in there are rehabbers who can look for close pigeon friendly help or give advice

100% on board with the pigeon empathy. Don't agree that men "bred women for domestication." Seems like that is overstating the power that men have. Maybe I misunderstood your point though.
