Naveed Ahmed, of Mannheim Road, Manningham, Bradford, faced Bradford Crown Court following an arrest by West Yorkshire Police. The court heard Ahmed had spent 20 years in custody for arson before his release in February 2020, only to begin downloading and distributing Category A child abuse images weeks later. Police searched his home on 5 June 2020 after Facebook shut down his profile for uploading illicit media, seizing a phone with child rape movies. Ahmed admitted to making and distributing Category A images between April and May 2020. The judge jailed Ahmed for 27 months and confirmed his recall on a life licence.
