I like this and definitely looks better imo. too many big creators unfortunately set the precedent though that you can't have more than a split second of dead air, and have to have jumps and zooms every freaking sentence 😡

Although this is a good tactic you can’t do this all the time. Especially as a YouTuber or TikToker. When you’re trying the keep the attention span you need to make so many cuts that this becomes useless because that means you need a unique b-roll shot for each cut. Your audience is flexible, if they can handle one awkward jump (which in my opinion isn’t awkward) they can handle multiple.

Start with the b roll shot first. Then cut to you talking. Smoother transition without cutting in and out.

R.P. :
it still feels off because the camera is moving the opposite direction in the b roll shot, if you mirror that shot the cuts won't feel so abrupt

It’s only more noticeable because there’s that bit of silence between the cut. Very little deadspace between the cut makes it almost unnoticeable

After the cut, just do a little fast zoom in or fast zoom out with motion blur and Add a subtle whoosh sound effect . You don't need B-Roll for that 😁. for Corporate videos/Ads, this is what I do. Thank me later. 🥰

Jump cuts, 180 degree rule, and matching the action were all the things they taught us on the first day in intro to Video Production class in high school
