I often laugh about this because many children and/or adults who were alive and in canada for 9/11 went on with their lives immediately afterwards. It was basically just "awh, we should up our airport security. Hope everyone affected is okay" and Moved On. This just in: countries dont really gaf about big events outside of their country unless it directly affects them

It’s 2002 in Toronto. It’s not for no reason. Boyband culture is a huge part of this movie, and the specific boy band culture it’s playing into was very much an early 2000s (like ACTUALLY the first years of the 2000s decade) was really only present at that point, any later and it wouldn’t have been as relevant. Yes they were boy bands after that time like 1D but it was a very different kind of boy band
