Do ppl realize our security relationship with Israel is a two-way street? So I’m genuinely asking: what would we do differently? The U.S. has long rely on its partnership with Israel for intelligence sharing, counterterrorism and other security cooperation in extremely volatile region. If we end this alliance, what will then replaces those capabilities, and what evidence tells us the replacement would be comparable? And if another regional country becomes that partner, what happens when that government has serious human-rights violations of its own? Do we end that alliance too? I def get outrage over Palestinian suffering, but I don’t think it’s fair to assume that a politician who supports maintaining the alliance therefore wants Palestinians to suffer. They may be weighing competing humanitarian and national-security concerns. So respectfully, how would you handle those tradeoffs differently?
