I get offended when anyone calls him a bad main character, he’s had such a huge impact on others including myself. When I first started one piece I was at a very low point in my life and despite him being a fictional character, hearing some of his words of motivation really helped me a lot and I even started to feel better about myself. I know some people will probably think it’s weird of me to think this way but he really did save me. •ᴗ•

i used to see “luffy doesn’t have character development” and i’d get mad but then i started to think that luffy’s character doesn’t need a lot of character development. ever since his gear 5 transformation i always enjoyed the idea of him being the sun god nika, a man with the properties of rubber who liberates all that seeks freedom. rubber, a material that always reverts back to its original state no matter how far you stretch it. the sun, a shining ray of light that touches everything in the open. luffy was meant to never be corrupted, never change his views, because he’ll always be his original self, being free, rubber. luffy changes everything around him, shaping the world everywhere he goes, helping those stuck in the dark, because he’ll give them the freedom they’ve been looking for, sun. as much as i hate oda, i will always, ALWAYS be grateful to him for creating luffy

I love luffy not just for his goofy personality but for his inspiration he has taught me no matter how hard things get to keep pushing through day by day in order to come out to the next day stronger I am forever grateful for watching one piece it is my comfort my heart my soul my everything and for people who are struggling with giving up please look towards Luffy look towards what he does and accomplishes he truly is one of a kind character I forever will be in debt towards luffy.

Ive had depression for my whole life life but Luffy is the man whole is the sun to my life. ❤️He always tells me to never give up even though I don’t want to continue forward in life. He tells me that I have a dream to achieve and that I shouldn’t give up. He is truly the character who keeps me going in life. When ever I’m down I would just remember that he would pull me back up on my feet again and help me keep moving forward. I don’t know what I would do without Luffy and I don’t know what position I would be in down without Luffy. Luffy has taught me to not hide in my shell and express my emotions just like he does. Help the people you love or help the people you don’t even know. He wants me to become to better person. He wants everyone to join together and bring peace. That’s my Monkey D. Luffy and he’s the love of my life. ❤️

People really call Luffy a bad MC and it just tells me they either skipped the story or don't understand his character 😭 He isn't just a goofy pirate. He's one of the most inspiring characters in anime because he reminds people that you don't have to be perfect to chase your dreams. He teaches you to keep going even after failure, stay loyal to the people you care about, stand up for what's right even when it's hard, and never let other people decide your worth. He went from a reckless kid chasing a dream to a captain carrying the weight of his crew and entire nations without ever losing his kindness or his smile. He doesn't fight for fame or power, he fights because everyone deserves to be free. That's why so many people connect with him on a real level, and the TikTok slander will never make sense to me.
