She was a literally breeding dragon, she had many and healthy hatchlings. Literally one of the most important roles to exist is to prolong the bloodline. Plus, dragons should've never participated in a war in the first place

despite never being in the war the ONLY reason syrax died was because despite having a clear way to escape she TURNED BACK to help the other dragons when she heard their cries btw.

None of the dragons deserved what they got. syrax should have allowed to be a pampered house dragon. Matter of fact the targs should have fought their battles themselves without dragons.

Syrax is a dragon born during the era of peace and she belongs to the Princess of Dragonstone who was, at the time, the only child and heir of the King. Obviously she’s going to be pampered because riding to battle and killing people or other dragons isn’t exactly what’s expected of a princess, especially not from the only heir to the throne. And it’s not like Rhaenyra during her younger days, only wanted to sit around and do nothing when conflict was happening around her. We saw her encourage Viserys to allow her and Syrax to fly for diplomatic missions and he didn’t allow it — he told her to be content with doing cupbearer duties. This isn’t Syrax’ fault or Rhaenyra’s fault at all.
