my older sister had end stage anorexia, she permanently has bowel and bladder issues and the blood pooling in her legs because her veins were affected too. She had bald spots and couldn’t stand properly, she was in the ICU and when we had to go see her we had to wear literal suits because her immune system was so weak, even a cold could’ve killed her. Me and her aren’t that close but i’m so glad she isn’t sick anymore. I hope people stop romanticising this disorder, because it almost cost me my older sisters entire life.

Having had an ed for over 4 years has genuinely been hell. Every time I think I’m about to recover it’s actually just me binge eating and then falling back to the restrictive pattern.
