in short, the main characters swear far less so when they do swear, you know shit hit the fan. its kind of similar to how bojack horseman just says “fuck” when he loses someone as his final words

fuck isn't the only curse yk there's many time's shit was said and on another note so what cursing isn't necessary to make a good story and the way it's used as a spice to intensify moments like shinjiros death is a good way of not overusing them imo

i think it’s more that writing has more impact when you’re judicious with your words. cursing has impact, so being purposeful about WHEN to apply them matters a lot
