@meghannmcuniff: Elaine Rossi was a nanny for Lindsay and Patrick Clancy's three children from July 2022 to early December 2022. Rossi testified in Lindsay's murder trial in Massachusetts today (Wednesday, August 5, day 7) for the strangulation deaths of the children on Jan. 24, 2023. Lindsay was being treated for postpartum mental health issues at the time; her defense is that she's not guilty by reason of insanity because she was psychotic. Rossi worked three days a week from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. She primarily cared for baby Callan and occasionally interacted with Cora, who was four years old at the time, and Dawson, who was three. She knew Lindsay suffered from postpartum issues, including sleep deprivation and difficulty focusing, and she testified Lindsay told her she was going to stop nursing Callan because she was starting a new medication. Rossi also said Lindsay told her "she was having difficulties sleeping and that she was sleeping in the basement." "Did you have the occasion to observe her interacting with the children?" asked Shanan Buckingham, an assistant district attorney in Plymouth County. "I did," Rossi answered. "And did you have any concerns about her interacting with the children?" "None at all. She was a wonderful mom," Rossi answered. Rossi stopped working for the Clancy's in December 2022 when Lindsay decided not to return to work. "Patrick and Lindsay went for a walk, and when they returned, I was in the living room on the floor with Callan, and they came in and told me that they would have to let me go because Lindsay would not be going back to work, and the two of them would be home to care for the children," Rossi testified.
