Do you think being an influencer played a role in it? Don’t get me wrong, I love your content and especially your nursing content, but I could see it being a turnoff for some employers if they see you’re on vacations a lot and know you’ll be posting about your job to a big audience.

its normal to apply for over a year in california with no interviews. I graduated in december have applied for EVERY single job at every single hospital in my area within an hour and cant even get an interview… Theres no shortage of nurses.

I know if I switch jobs I’ll most likely have to start on night shift again or straight days and right now I’m on mid shift and I don’t think I could ever go back to night shift LOL (I work in the ER and we have people come in at like 9/11/13/15 to help with increase census as the day goes on)

i feel like it’s so hard to get a job in the peds world period like i applied for an adult med surg position and got the job on the spot but i had applied to over 40 jobs in nicu/peds before i finally got a nicu offer 😭😭

I think picky is the right way to put it. I was also VERY PICKY to find my current job & it also took me 6 months with no break but the wait was definitely worth it.

You are perfectly fine to be selective. You need to be happy with your choice. Another things is some job markets are easier than others to find jobs. So some areas it can take a while.

Let me also add from the admin side: we don’t see every applicant the recruiters (many are horrible) screen through applicants and we miss SO many great candidates as result. That’s why often it’s who you know that helps the process…. @Anna Heid surgical roles are hard to get without a training program because of the risk etc.
