women were NEVER meant to carry the burden of raising babies alone. Little ones were meant to be raised by the village, and the village would help take so much weight of mom's shoulders. I hate that we've normalized these nuclear households where usually only a single parent is expected or able to do the majority of the tasks related to child-rearing. It's inhumane to put these moms in that position.
