@serenabredin: Coercive control is not always visible from the outside. It can be a pattern of behaviours that limits autonomy, creates fear, and continues even after separation. As Dr. Emma Katz writes, “Coercive control perpetrators’ tactics vary based on their resources and personalities, and they tailor their approach to their abuse based on what they think will work best.” That is part of why the pattern can be so difficult to name while you are still inside of it. This series was about finding language for what I had lived.
