Hidden deep inside your upper abdomen is something called the cisterna chyli. Think of it as a major collection station for your lymph. Lymph from your: 🩷 Legs 🩷 Pelvis 🩷 Belly 🩷 Digestive organs all gathers here before traveling up your body’s largest lymph vessel, the thoracic duct, and eventually returning to your bloodstream. So why does this matter? Unlike your heart, your lymphatic system doesn’t have a pump. Instead, it depends on things like: ✨ Deep diaphragmatic breathing ✨ Walking and everyday movement ✨ Nervous System work ✨ Muscle contractions ✨ Gentle twisting and stretching ✨ Healthy fascial movement to help keep lymph moving. In this post, I go about an inch above the belly button and lightly pump in a -J- motion, about a 1 second pace, while focusing on relaxing my shoulders and body. (Educational and informational)
