Not liking someone messaging and content is one thing but attacking their character and intelligence simply because you’re uncomfortable with their topic of discussion is weird. Not every single opinion of hers resonates with me just because we both share plus size bodies. But I can understand at a FUNDAMENTAL level why she is doing what she does. #plussize #samyra

I see a lot of people say she doesn’t speak on other topics and thats why they don’t like her… while i can understand this, some people focus on one topic rather than all topics of the world… My problem with her is that anything involving being skinny, losing weight/dieting, having healthy options, or even smaller sized clothing to her is being fatphobic. I think she needs to realize theres more bodys than just a fat body too and acknowledge that you can promote both a skinny and a fat body.. because the fact of the matter is she IS skinny phobic which is as bad as being fatphobic.

My thing is, somewhere right now there is a girl on her 3rd bbl, eating weight gain gummy’s bc she desires to be thicker & voluptuous, simultaneously there is a woman watching her every calorie & trying to fit into a 000 bc she wants to be thin & petite. I believe her “advocacy” lacks action. She’s not doing anything except talking - her approach has done nothing to actually further her cause… she’s making songs versus working towards true advocacy/activism… like a plus size clothing line… resources on WHO/WHERE to support… workouts for plus size… support & praise or partnerships with plus size individuals who are in spaces. She plays a victim AND a bully which is where she loses many people and why they don’t take her seriously

I think it’s her tone and her delivery. There should be access to clothes of every size and shapes. Absolutely! And on that note so do people who are super tall ,super short, and in between. I myself have very long legs for my height and a smaller waist so most of my pants either fit like high waters or I have a huge gap in between my back and my butt showing my underwear lmao. But the difference is we adapt and we try our best with what we can find. It’s very rare for me to find jeans that are both long and fit my waist but I’m not harassing employees as to why that is. It’s not their company it’s not their job. So I really liked her in the beginning bc I thought she was amplifying something that I can relate to and is frustrating to not find in stores but she lost the plot a long time ago unfortunately and now no one wants to take her seriously because everything is a problem. Loved her message in the beginning but at this point it’s just rage bait imo.

I don’t think any of this is the actual subject in reference to the current conflict. I think the actual issue is that some advocates become far too self-righteous in their own efforts of advocacy. And when this happens, I think it really blurs their judgment and causes them to act in the way that may actually hinder their advocacy.

There’s a lot of things actually most things she’s gone viral for that I disagree with personally. HOWEVER I think it’s very easy for people to stray from the topic and start straight up just insulting her. For instance people won’t agree with a take but at the same time they downplay how much she has influenced inclusivity to a large and growing population of woman in the United States.

As a fat a girl I agree with you. My thing with Samyra is I feel like she is an activist with no action, she did a collab with JCPenney and didn’t even promote it and arguing with store level employees is pointless, they can’t do anything about the store assortment and you’re just making their day harder.
