I thank you for doing this. The tik tok audience needs it for sure. That being said, the idea of a social contract is very useful and could have value within society but the liberal idea of god given rights is largely incompatible with socialism. The abolition of private property is necessary to move away from a capitalist mode of production. Unless you mean capitalism or state capitalism with the addition of a robust welfare state when you say socialism. Though I imagine you’ll define that term more clearly in your next video.

Adam Smith, David Ricardo, & Karl Marx all used the labor theory of value. They just believed in more or less of its importance & had more or little faith in the externalities surrounding it.

Probably should've included neoliberalism in the video which is the dominant economic theory most liberals (conscious or not - that's what democrats are) support in 2026. But otherwise not a bad video

I think a problem that a lot of the people who speak on these issues have as they don’t understand that these words aren’t really interchangeable. For example, socialism and capitalism are more economic philosophies, whereas communism and democracy are more political ones.
