I'm 16 and my dad is 82. I do consider it selfish when you're forced to nurse your aging parents. Ever since you're young, you always have that constant fear that they might not last long. Having young parents doesn't guarantee they'll live long, but the odds are just so much higher.

all the projection, there’s people who’s mum had them at 22 and they still died before their kid got to 30. Everyone has a different path, let people live beyond the parameters in your mind.

my dad had me at 52 and i’m now 21 and he’s 73! he is still in great shape, works out all the time, and was retired for most of my childhood so i have so many great memories!

The negative comments are nonsense, my dad had me in his 40s, and he’s in his 60s now. He still works even though he’s in retirement age bc he likes it lol. He’s still very much alive and well. The concept of it being “unfair” on the parent for having a child later in life is ridiculous. It’s “unfair” to place such expectations when this is their first time living too. Life happens, illness, sickness, accidents, or maybe you might not get along at all. No age guarantees better answers. 50 yrs with a shitty parent vs 25 yrs with a wonderful parent. You don’t plan your life on the possible occurrence of death. You should live it without the fear of it, otherwise ur living in paranoia. This goes for mother and father. Be blessed for the time you have. Also 25 yrs of PT? His heart health is probably better than all of ours 😂
