When I arrived at my host family’s home as an exchange student 25 years ago, they welcomed me with a BBQ and one pound steaks 🥩 I remember thinking, “Americans are crazy. How can anyone eat a steak that big?” 🤣 Today I live in the US, and now I totally get it 🤠✌️

Over the years, our family has hosted more than 20 exchange students from around the world. Many of them have become lifelong friends, and we still stay in touch. We’ve traveled to visit them, and they’ve come back to visit us with their own families. What started as hosting students turned into gaining family across the globe. It has truly been one of the most rewarding experiences of our lives, and we wouldn’t trade it for anything.
