I dont think people understand. The iPhone batteries naturally expand overtime due to charging/ heat exposure/ or usage. This happened to my son’s phone but it was gradual. It started with the raising of the back of his phone, then imploded just like that. He has the iPhone 14 Pro Max. And when they replaced the entire back and battery they admitted it is unfortunately common 🤦🏼♀️so I believe you hun.

I do phone repair 👋 this happens when you use cheap chargers, like ones from Amazon or a department store. This can also happen if you leave your phone in the car on a hot day or charging under your pillowcase at night. Doesn’t matter if it’s Android or iPhone, take care of it and it’ll take care of you. Phones don’t just “blow up” for no reason, unless it’s the Samsung Note 7

iPhone Air is not the issue. And It’s not discontinued, you shouldn’t spread misinformation. They toned down the manufacturing on the phone because the phone wasn’t selling (people weren’t interested enough). iPhone Air can overheat like any other phone, if you use it to do heavy tasks it’s not meant to do. What happened was likely a Thermal runaway which is mostly user error (overcharging, damage beforehand, leaving phone in high temperatures etc..). Glad he’s okay tho
