Read some of the 60s and 70s feminist authors like Susan Brownmiller, then Naomi Wolf. They sounded the alarm years ago and were widely derided. As soon as women began speaking up fashion drove women's standards to breast implants, botox, functional anorexia, etc with increasingly ridiculous shoes, etc. Fashion has always been the patriarchal stealth weapon to disempower women.
