People saying "he always had someone he can rely on, show downgraded and ignored characters" can't understand why steven ended up bursting He stops relying on someone since season 2, and after all 5 seasons and the movie had to live in a world, where he's not a hero who saves the day, but a human being. He can't rely on dad because in his eyes greg has no knowledge for him to acknowledge, can't rely on gems because they are not humans, and he did tried to talk with connie, but misunderstood himself and his wants, which led up to connie's misunderstanding. No one could understand steven, and that is why no one told him anything Steven was the rock to lie upon, and forgot he also need to rely on himself

if Steven wasn’t there, Connie would’ve gotten crushed to death by the boulder, if the gems having their consciousness taken away and turned into beast would have stayed that way, the red eye would have crashed into Beach City, destroying it and eventually the rest of the planet, Peridot may have had been bubbled for eternity by the crystal gems, the cluster would’ve teared the Earth apart, If the cluster had been disarmed then Spinel would’ve reset everyone, Pearl would have to keep living with the burden of knowing that rose was pink diamond, Ruby and Sapphire wouldn’t have gotten married and they would’ve split at some point, Bismuth would still be sealed away as well as Lapis being in the mirror, in the crystal gems would eventually lose to Homeworlds superior military. There’s so much more I could’ve listed but that’s the reason I didn’t, I don’t need to list more to prove that with everything he’s sacrificed for others, all the psychological and physical damage he’s inflicted onto himself for others can never be taken back, he’ll never just be a kid. Because in reality, there would be nothing to take back if not for him.
