I’ll put money on this being haven. We had a horrible experience last year with haven down in Filey and had to put in a big complaint, so this year we booked with Parkdean for a long weekend. Omg horrific, we had exactly the same issue as you with the smell, and having to leave so they could put the machine in etc so we had to leave the caravan while they done that and because we couldn’t get in our first night while the machine was in the girls missed the wee disco. It was so bad, I complained to Parkdean 2 weeks ago about it and I’ve not heard back at all.

Mold on the curtains is horrible!! Obviously all of the other things as well, but i seriously can't get over children ending up sleeping in a room with mold on the curtains?!!

I hope you took pictures of the place. That’s a major violation of health and safety especially when kids are involved. This is another reason why I’ll never go on a caravan holiday. I’ve heard too many stories and it’s infuriating standards have dropped.

As an ex caravan cleaner this is disguising 😵💫 if we left even a speck of dust, we’d get dragged back to the caravan and expected to reclean it before the guests arrived

I'd complain to the councils Trading standards. If the park advertised the caravan as clean, hygienic, or ready for use and it wasn’t, that can be a breach of consumer protection law. Trading Standards can investigate whether the park is routinely failing to provide what customers pay for.

the mould on the curtains alone are a bit hazard as your not supposed to breath mould spores in! absolutely vile! hope you got a refund on a big part of your holiday as first 2 days are ruined

I am struggling reading all these comments … it’s such a shame that caravan holidays have a negative connotation. I and other private renters pour so much care into our accommodation, it’s a shame the big companies cannot do the same 😔

We went to haven in may and found a bag of coc***e in the cupboard in the kids bedroom! we only got half our money back! it was crazy. When we called security they asked us if we wanted to keep hold of it until the morning 🤣😅😅

so if this is a haven caravan and you complain about cleanliness and you give them a chance a clean in and then its still not clean your are entitled to full refund! happened to us. we found drugs in our caravan before and I lost my rag!!
