“I have found the One whom my soul loves, and I will not let Him go.” Songs 3:4 Paul’s story is one of my favorites, and touches me on such a deep level. I relate to him in a way because he loved Jesus so deeply, without ever having met Jesus in the flesh—the way the other apostles did. He was a young man when the church began, and with everything on him he tried to destroy it. He was passionate for God, but did not believe that Christ was Gods Son. Until Jesus Himself met Paul on the road, and spoke to Him out of a blinding light. Paul was never the same after that, and gave his entire life to introducing others to Jesus. He understood the love of God so deeply, and so passionately longed to see Jesus for himself. This is clear in all his writings. One of the ones that spoke most clear of his love was this. “Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to me.” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15‬:‭7‬-‭8‬ ‭ “As one untimely born” moved me. He understands he came late. He missed the time Jesus was actually on earth, and did not get to know Him face to face. And “For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭13‬:‭12‬ ‭ESV‬‬ And “as it is my eager expectation and hope that I will not be at all ashamed, but that with full courage now as always Christ will be honored in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better. But to remain in the flesh is more necessary on your account.” ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭1‬:‭20‬-‭21‬, ‭23‬-‭24‬ ‭ESV‬‬ There are so many more but insta has a caption word limit. You can go find them yourself in his letters. 🥹 #youngapostles #foundfamily #bible #animatic #animation
