I’m going to struggle to put into words how much I enjoyed this book. The whole thing was such a breath of fresh air! The cover initially caught my eye and then when I read the synopsis I thought it could be a bit of a cute ish, whimsy break from my normal reads which are mostly horror//thriller. I really wasn’t expecting to have as much fun reading this as I did. Several times throughout this story I found myself chuckling and smiling and literally laughing out loud. I haven’t done that reading a book since Adrian Mole when I was about eleven years old! Quite a few times I wanted to tell my wife about events that had just happened or funny things within, but had to stop myself because I REALLY want her to read it. I know she will love it. It’s such a beautiful and heartwarming story, but somehow it manages to do it without being too soppy or cliche in any way. It just…. Works… it works so well. Both Red and Frank are fantastic characters. They’re both so quirky in their own ways and they’ll each have you smiling with their one liners and their actions. The rest of the characters are written so well that they don’t feel like side characters at all. Everyone you meet makes a big impact in one way or another. There’s no point where you’ll be trying to remember who such and such is or what did so and so do? Honestly I cannot praise this book enough. I have had an absolute ball. It just goes to show that you can find friendships in the most unlikely of places. Even if you’re not looking. Highly, highly recommend! #BookTok
