@amy_santoro: A reminder once again, Lindsey is claiming that she is not criminally responsible as a result of her psychosis. So the only question in front of the jury really is was she in psychosis at the moment that she killed her children or not? ##truecrime##lindsayclancy##massachusetts##police##law
In grad school, I learned if you can’t dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit and I think that’s the prosecutor’s strategy here

All she’s doing is pissing the jurors off. Then reddington called her ass out on it today and the jury probably appreciates it! Manipulating jurors is not a winning strategy. 🙄

Maybe she’s trying to bore the jury to death. Drown them in irrelevant shit and maybe they’ll vote guilty 🙄

This really is what’s really bothering about me about this case. The facts of the case are to prove she is criminally responsible, which has absolutely nothing to do with the children, their personalities, their clothes or how the children were treated.

"Can you describe how to do CPR on a little little poor childs body" FOR WHAT REASON? WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO PROVE?

As a retired MA lawyer I just weep at this trial even occurring. What justice does it serve? I just can’t see any. It’s just gratuitous violence at this point. I just get more & more despondent about our justice system.

I don’t think they have any proof she wasn’t in psychosis and they are just trying to make the jury hate her.

I don’t think they have anything. This is such a ridiculous circus meant to torment a woman who’s already suffering.

Kevin Redington tried to avoid this back in April by offering to have her sign an agreement admitting to guilt IF, and ONLY IF she was granted a bifurcated trial. That motion was denied. Although Kevin Redington has stated multiple times that this is just a trial of her mind state... There will be 3 verdict choices on their verdict slip. Unfortunately, since the DA wouldn't agree to this and the judge denied the bifurcated trial... The state still, legally, has the burden of even proving she did it, on top of proving she was sane. As a Massachusetts resident, I'm genuinely upset with the state for refusing to avoid this horse and pony show. As it, again, proves the DA'S here care more about convictions than anything.

It seems like the prosecution is jsut trying to say she never experienced psychosis and was 100% capable. Which seems like a literally impossible thing to say considering the lack of sleep and medication? I’m waiting to see if the defense calls a sleep expert up

I’ve been thinking that there’s a culture in MA where people just accept mediocre work, unprofessionalism, sexism, etc. Like it’s just okay there.

Three kids. A five year old, a three year old, and a baby. Exercise bands around their necks. And the internet's first instinct is to ask how she's doing.
Cora was five. She was old enough to understand what was happening to her. She watched her mother come for her. And thousands of women read that story and their first thought was "but the medication though".
No. Stop. A woman wrapped exercise bands around a baby's neck. An eight month old. Callan couldn't crawl away. He couldn't say stop. He couldn't do anything. And the comment section says "this poor lady is very sick she needs psychiatric care". POOR LADY? The poor baby needed to not be strangled by his mother.
And then, THEN, these same people turn around and attack the father. The man who walked into a house full of blood and dead children and called 911 begging his kids to breathe. That man. They're mad at THAT man. For what? For surviving? For not dying alongside them? For daring to find someone who loves him after the worst thing that can happen to a human being?
He forgave her. He publicly defended her. He said she wasn't a monster. He raised money for her. And they're dragging him for remarrying. What was he supposed to do? Build a shrine and stop existing? He gave that woman more grace than any human being has ever earned and the public response is "how dare he move on."
And they know, they KNOW, that if a man had done this, there would be no sympathy campaign. There would be no op eds about how the system failed him. There would be no comment sections saying his wife should have known. He'd be Timothy Jones. He'd be Chris Watts. He'd be a monster, sentenced in two hours, case closed. Nobody would write "this poor man is very sick". Nobody would blame the mother for going to the store.
The double standard isn't subtle. It's not hidden. It's right there in plain text and they still can't see it because seeing it would break something they need to believe about themselves, that their empathy is universal, that their compassion is principled, that they care about victims. They don't care about victims. They care about women. The three actual victims in this story are children.

it feels like the commonwealth is attempting to waterboard the jury with information so they can't remember what they were listening to in the first place. I feel like the judge needs to just stop and say. she admitted she killed them that's not up for debate stop wasting time

The prosecution reminds me of the mock trial we did at Girls Inc in middle school. It just feels like they don’t have a case and are grasping at straws at this point.

That’s exactly why the prosecution is calling so many treating providers. They’re not just repeating the same testimony. They’re establishing a consistent fact pattern. Multiple doctors, nurses, psychiatrists, and mental health professionals all interacted with Lindsay over time, and the prosecution is showing that none of them documented or diagnosed psychosis. The more independent witnesses who tell the same story from different points in her treatment, the stronger that fact pattern becomes. That’s standard trial strategy, and I’m sure you know that.

Would love your opinion on her wrist injuries. 3-3.5cm is well over an inch deep. This blew my mind today. How is it even possible for that not to be a life threatening injury?

Why is the judge not setting some limits? This isn’t a soap opera, it’s a trial and it shouldn’t be treated like one
