Do you have pain on your neck? Are you constantly massaging or stretching your neck… for temporary or no relief at all? The problem may be coming from inside the neck, rather than the muscle itself. :bulb: What’s happening? The discs and joints in your neck help guide smooth movement. When these tissues (discs or other small tissues) inside become compressed or don't move properly, turning or looking up can become painful and restricted. :fire: Why this matters If you only treat the tight muscles, you may get temporary relief from suface pain, but you never address what's limiting movement inside the neck. And in order to restor normal neck pain-free mechanics we have to reposition thise tissues which based on my experience with patients and research findings... it is effective over 90% of the time!. :hammer_and_wrench: Exercises to restore neck motion 1.) Chin tuck with overpressure (10 reps) Use your neck muscles to tuck your head back first, then add gentle but firm pressure with your fingers. Hold briefly and repeat while keeping your head level and repeat. Immediately after, complete exercise two. 2.) Chin tuck + extension (5-10 reps) Tuck your head back, then slowly look upward. You should feel the movement in the lower neck—not by collapsing forward through the upper neck, this increased the force to reposition tissue. Go slowly because you will feel quite a bit fo pressure and as always listen to your body. 3.) Stay consistent (complete this several times per day) Perform smooth, controlled repetitions to gradually restore neck mobility and reduce pain. Improving movement inside the neck can reduce muscle guarding and help you get longer-lasting relief.
