so I'm allergic just like she is it's messes up but the same reason raw shrimp cooks in Ceviche is the same reason why she can actually eat the salsa.The onions actually cook Just enough. Depending on the type of onion , she is actually allergic to , she might actually be able to eat cooked onions.

bringing me back to when I worked in a authentic Italian restaurant. When someone came in with a garlic or allium allergy I had to tell them that the entire restaurant was contaminated with garlic. There response oh no so long as I don’t see it….

theres a high likelihood that was my step mom. she tells everyone shes deathly allergic to onions because she HATES them and wont eat anything that onions have touched but is fine with salsa and onion powder.

im allergic to orange peel but not irange juice?! lime and lemon peels but not the juice, somthing in the skin makes me.come out in hives and makes my mouth itchy so like no candies fruits but juice yea

I almost understood her until the salsa. I have had this stupid bizarre allergy to raw fruits and veggies for years BUT I CAN HAVE THEM COOKED!? Onions are weird cause once you cook them enough that it’s safe for me to eat, they’re not tasty anymore.

My great grandmother couldn’t have garlic but did fine with garlic powder and I was the exact opposite for most of my childhood so I was totally on the patron’s side UNTIL you got to the salsa part. 🫠🤣

1- This customer is clearly nuts. 2- Fun fact, I am allergic to peanuts, but I am not allergic to boiled peanuts specifically. The boiling process breaks down the specific protein in peanuts that I am allergic to, but roasting peanuts (which is done for peanut butter) does not! I promise I’m not a wacko, you can look this up 😂 All that to say, I was very confused for decades as to why peanut butter / dry roasted peanuts made my throat itch and swell, but boiled peanuts did nothing! The body is weird!

When I waited tables I had a customer who ordered the chicken enchiladas because she was a “vegetarian”. It was over 20 years ago, and I wonder sometimes if she ever remembers that she used to say that out loud to people, or if she is a middle aged person who still thinks chicken is a vegetable.

The first claim was actually perfectly reasonable. The compound in onions is denatured in the drying process for powder.

I had someone tell me once they were allergic to dairy, worse than lactose intolerant. But they could have Mac n Cheese because the allergy cooks out. Ummm that’s not how it works but mmmkay.

My kid was anaphylactic to peanuts (we’ve done therapy it’s better now a bit) and this is why people didn’t believe me and treat it so flippantly or like we were lying how serious 😭
