I hate modern and contemporary art because art is supposed to have meaning, AND effort, AND skill. So much modern and contemporary art ONLY has meaning, and, to me, that’s not enough to make art. Now, depending on how deep the meaning goes, the meaning ITSELF could be art, like how poetry inspired by a shaky cellphone image can be art, but that doesn’t make the ‘art’ (or cellphone image in this analogy) itself particularly good art.
