If you already have a PC, just leave it on and remote into it, so you can access it from everywhere, and the laptop is just the display, keyboard, and mouse.

Personally I got a 3050, 24gb ddr5, i5 with like 450 gb storage for $790, felt worth to me but not sure. The $800 was all free money I got from the government so not too bad even if the laptop wasn't worth it.
