I think it’s complicated. While i believe that fanservice in and of itself is harmless, and of course as a hot blooded young male, I love seeing ass and tiddies on my screen. in some cases, even, the fanservice can actively uplift a character! For example, the formerly shunned and despised goonbait Jane Doe. Her design is incredibly—and more importantly, fittingly—sexy. Shes hot. She knows she’s hot. She *should* be hot, and act hot. And her sensuality was expressed properly, with fitting attire that managed to be revealing without detracting from the design overall. Unfortunately, a lot of this is lost with newer characters. Even ignoring the recycling of outfits and design formulas that are apparent with newer units, a large majority of them are sexy simply for the sake of being sexy. Which, again, on its own, isn’t a bad thing. The issue rises from the fact that the way in which this sexiness is presented tends to actively take away from the character design. Why is remielle walking around in lingerie? Why does Velina basically have her panties out? Why is Norma in a short tight dress with thigh high stockings and high heels? etc etc. Tl;dr I don’t really mind fan-service nor do I think by itself it’s a negative—i think the issue stems from character design, and the fanservice being prioritized over it, if that makes sense.

I don’t dislike fan service as a concept but it’s just not done tastefully in recent zzz designs 😭 it’s incorporated so poorly that it takes away from the actual identity of the characters imo

Now that i look back at it, the fanservice around 1.0 wasn't that bad, i'd even say it was well done. Cuz the clothes the characters we're wearing actually suited their personality/occupations and the world they live in (the character's clothes looked pretty similar to npcs) now it just feels like revealing outfits that doesn't really fit the characters identity and the world they live in, it feels too fantasy-ich and not urban-ich amymore idk how to explain

the things that really piss me off is when the camera FULLY focuses on the agents and theyre doing something weird, remielle hold basic attack, get flashed. ult with remielle, underskirt shot. hold ex attack? flashed.

Nah i dont get why you’re getting hated on that take. No one is entitled for your opinion on a character. And i agree remi is gorgeous i love the design but i really hate that she is the first gen void hunter this is the mf that pushed the dark wall ? She does not live up to her expectations. Thats my issue

I find it hilarious that ppl do draw the line inZZZ’s fan service. That also just shows that they dont know what they are talking about cuz what we have here is mild at best. Go look at BrownDust2 or Azur Lane’s promo material and then yall know how true fan service looks like.

Back then the fan service was ACTUALLY GOOD, it was done with care imo, they actually put thought into the designs, now they're only using a template.
