Nobody should be forced to carry a pregnancy to term if they aren’t equipped to carry it. There are financial issues, family dynamics, medical risks other than only death, sometimes other forms of birth control fail. And yes, sometimes a person just doesn’t want it. And I don’t see how that is morally wrong for an individual who has nothing to do with you to do as they need, as it’s between themselves and their care provider.

Many rapes are unreported, and many never make it to a conviction. Who would decide if a girl could have an abortion based on rape? When would that happen? As soon as the report is filed? Or would it need to be proven? That would never happen in time. What would stop some girls making false accusations just to get an abortion? Would never work.

here's the thing... it WAS passed as a law with those stipulations. that's what it was marketed as. my mom remembers when it was legalized and that was their defining factor. "let's legalize this in the cases of rape and incest" and then 20 years later, it's "this is my right, for any reason, at any stage of pregnancy".
