Prosecutors later accused 20-year-old Diego Montoya Gonzalez of assaulting the child and recording it. According to court records, Chandler then contacted Gonzalez through TikTok and allegedly lured him back to the family’s Grove City home. Chandler told investigators he planned to confront and hold him until police arrived. When Gonzalez arrived, Chandler said he believed Gonzalez reached for a gun, so he grabbed his own firearm and opened fire. Gonzalez survived after being shot twice. Chandler was charged with felonious assault and given a $100,000 bond. Gonzalez was later indicted on two rape counts, five counts involving sexually oriented material involving minors, and obstruction of official business.
