Okay what do you think about the opposite of this comment. A question I have been asking for a long time: why do we have to keep our eyes on things in order for them to matter. For example - graphic content about Gaza and Iran. People share the worst thing they can find which was surprisingly unfiltered on the actual news. If you complain and ask why they thought it was necessary to share that, they'll probably respond by lecturing you about how it's our responsibility to watch. Looking away=not caring. I don't get that reasoning. It still matters even if I can't bear to look at it. It still matters even if no one looks at it. I get that it's important to document things so the perpetrator knows they're being watched, but I don't think we should be forced to see it either.
