@thegroundedbuilder: One of the hardest lessons I’ve learned is that love doesn’t automatically heal unhealed wounds. For a long time I believed that if two people loved each other enough they would eventually figure it out. I wanted to believe love was strong enough to overcome fear, insecurity, abandonment, betrayal and every painful chapter that came before us. Today I see it differently. Love is incredibly powerful but it doesn’t erase trauma. It simply shines a light on the places that still need healing. I think a woman can love a man with every fiber of her being and still not be ready to fully hold him. Not because she’s cold. Not because she’s playing games. Not because her love isn’t real. But because every time she reaches for him her unhealed wounds reach first. If she’s spent years believing love eventually leaves, disappoints, betrays or becomes unsafe then consistency can feel unfamiliar. Healthy love can feel suspicious. Being deeply loved can feel more vulnerable than being alone because now there’s something precious to lose. I don’t say that to criticize women. The same is true for men. Our unhealed wounds don’t just affect how we love they affect how we receive love. Sometimes we push away the very thing we’ve prayed for because our nervous system mistakes peace for danger simply because chaos is what we’ve always known. We aren’t rejecting the person in front of us. We’re reacting to the pain that’s still living behind us. I’ve learned that one of the greatest gifts you can give someone you love isn’t trying to rescue them from their healing. It’s creating enough consistency that they never have to question your character while also respecting that their healing is their responsibility and not yours. You can love someone deeply without trying to carry wounds that only they can work through. That’s one of the hardest forms of love because it requires patience without losing yourself, compassion without abandoning your boundaries and hope without trying to force a timeline. Maybe that’s why timing matters more than most of us want to admit. Sometimes two people aren’t separated by a lack of love. They’re separated by a difference in emotional capacity. One person is ready to build while the other is still learning to believe it’s safe to pick up the tools. That doesn’t make either person bad. It makes them human. I think that’s one of the saddest truths about love. Sometimes a woman’s heart can be completely devoted to a man while her wounds are still convincing her that accepting that love is more dangerous than living without it. And sometimes the most loving thing either person can do isn’t hold on tighter it’s keep healing until love no longer has to compete with fear. #real #Love #relationships #healing #growth
