A satellite phone in that era was probably $10-20 a minute, onboard for just emergencies. Glad they recognized this unexpected emergency and opened it up for everyone to make needed calls.

My uncle worked in the twin towers, but he had called out of work to catch lunch with a friend that day. The survivors guilt made him turn to drugs and slowly ruined his life. He didnt die that day but that day still killed him.

There is an entire generation that watches every new piece of footage with tears because we remember it as if it was yesterday. There’s also an entire generation that wasn’t there, and acts like it never happened.
