Girls bring Uhauls with coordinated rugs and drapes to college. Boys bring 2 Duffle bags, their play station and a deer head. If they agree to let you buy them a new towel consideration yourself lucky.

Just here to add balance. My two sons did their applications by themselves, registered for their classes without me knowing, took care of all housing info, got all their materials, reserved their move in times, and then just let me know the day I had to drive them to move their stuff in. So—it is possible for the young men to step up. I just always step back so they can.

I dropped mine off last week, he left the medicine kit here. Lol. His dorm is apartment style so I bought him a big pack of toilet paper from Sam’s for him and his roommate. He said, I don’t need all this, they gave me some in my welcome bag. They gave him one roll 🤣

I have two daughters that went off to college first and I am living an entirely different experience with my son who is leaving next week for school and hasn’t packed a damn thing, doesn’t have a laptop, not even sure he knows which day classes start.🤦♀️

Both my sons: same thing. It was… anxiety inducing to say the least. And I’m a high school English teacher soooooo yeah- I was… GRITTING MY TEETH ALL SUMMER. But trust me: it’ll click. He will have some false starts, some scrambling issues… But he won’t sink- he’ll swim! Try to stay out of it as much as possible. You’ve got this! And so will he! 🤓
