Yall in the comments are trying to be so woke you go right tf back to sleep. You don’t have to claim MLK was bad to say Malcolm X was good. Both of their strategies led to the passage of civil rights legislation and they were friends toward the ends of their lives. MLK didn’t want black people to “just sit there and take racism” (I’ve seen multiple people in the comments say that) he wanted civil rights activists to agitate, yes in peaceful manners, because it was amazing opportunity for propaganda to get people on the movement’s side. How can you stand against civil rights when racists are beating people senseless for sitting at diner counters?? Think y’all PLEASE. Malcolm X wanted activists to agitate in more confrontational ways because who doesn’t get a little teary eyed for the little man when he stands up against the giant and the giant overreacts?? These strategies worked together, not against each other, if they didn’t we wouldn’t have any civil rights legislation.

lowkey dislike MLK at ths point (to no fault of his own he was still a great guy) but hes such a cookie cutter, perfect version of what people WANR revolutionaries to be. Peaceful, non violent, Christian, agreeable.. and now anytime anyoen does any more its always "but MLK did it! why cant you?"
