Being respectful and cooperative goes a longgggg way with a traffic stop on a minor infraction. Very bad advice to not cooperate. They’re just doing a job they are tasked to do. Minor infractions are usually addressed with a fix it or warning, so enjoy the ticket you so deserved because of your defiance.

depending on the state, the passenger absolutely does have to present an ID if asked. There is no reason to be an asshole.
