Mom of 4 here. Don’t overthink the feeding. My babies did not gain weight until closer to 10-14 days and then gained pounds a week.

From a bf momma who had plenty bf momma friends...just feed him more often...if pumping stresses you, feed from the "tap" and more often...you can feel if how much he is emptying you...do the feed extra feeds during the day and take the one 4/5 hour stretch at night for y'all to sleep. Weigh him at home after doing this way for 3-4 days, if no improvement, then pump and measure

You guys are doing everything correct baby will feed when he wants to feed. He will let you know when he is hungry. Doctors will say they need to eat this. They need that but baby knows when he wants to eat. Keep doing what you’re doing. I can promise I have raised babies you got this.

Forget what the doctors say he is your son if he wants to sleep 4 hours great let him he will not starve himself. Yall are doing fine. NUMBER ONE TIP....dont wake baby up he WILL wake you up.

No don’t wake him up ! Let him wake up on his own that his way of tell you his hungry. I never wake my kids up the sleep majority of the night after the first two months and gain weight just fine.

You guys, doctors only remember to wake and feed a baby until they surpass their birth weight! It’s very common. Once they pass their birth weight it’s okay to allow them to sleep until they wake up themselves.

as a mom that nursed 3 our 4 babies...dont freak out...your not into trouble....all babies lose weight at first then once milk comes in they get fat....it took about 2 maybe 3 weeks before baby finally started getting the milk fats....and never pumped, never bottle fed just nursed and let baby use me as a paci
