time is passing by quickly because we have time thieves. television, cellphones make time pass by so quickly, go test this out for yourself...sit on the porch for an hour, without any device...then try the same but with using a cellphone

Its due mostly because you stop experiencing moments. You dont look forward anymore to new experiences and also have a strict schedule which includes working, getting ready for the next day leaving a few hours in between to experience life. Its not that its passing faster, youre just not experiencing life anymore.

As a child you are always in the present moment, you never look to far into the future the concept of time has no real relevance, the only days you would look forward to were days like your birthday. The older we got, we started anchoring ourselves to time, through our daily activities such school, work when we should have kids or get married etc and the idea of death becomes a greater reality. We begin to remove ourselves from the present moment. As adults we still experience this like when we are lost in a creative state we zone out and time slows down as we get engrossed in the moment. We count the days down for the weekend which keeps us always focused on the future
