They are prolly a BLS unit. BLS units handle just the basics like Airways, Breathing, and Circulation. the ABCs. They don't handle trauma

As someone raised by a first responder, I knew immediately by the tone that his shift was on the verge of ending. I have also heard "I'm off shift, you will lay there and bleed until an ambulance shows up" a lot in response to proposed stupid actions.😆
