A lot of this crap started years ago when they started handing out participation trophies. You got a trophy just for being there, he didn’t even have to be really good, or put for any effort to earn it. I feel like it started there and gradually progressed through this bull crap that we see today.

My teenage boy's must do the following, they have to clean their own rooms, its their responsibility, they have to wash their own washing, they have to do the dishes every night, my husband and myself cook and they clean up, they have to help to clean the house weekends, they have to help hubby clean the yard, and they have to help with the yard, they have to wash the cars. they get their screen times and tv times. if they want their school clothes ironed, they have to do it themselves. They have to make sure the dogs have food and wateelr, and the poop is picked up. As they all have dogs as well. I work as well, i cannot do everything by myself, our house is too big. I leave 6 in the morning and get home at 6 at night, with my husband. I tried to teach them, that when they leave the house one day, they van do everything for themselves. They can even cook as well. We told our boys at 16 they will get a holiday and weekend job so they van buy their own stuff they want, especially non essential stuff.

While I was on hospice, my daughter was with her dad and he turned her into an entitled jackass. Last year she came back home and expected everything to be done for her. Trying to get her out of that mind set has been an everyday fight. Make me food im hungry mom. How about no child. She says youre legally obligated to feed me. I am legally obligated to provide you food, not cook, You are 16 years old. I said you live here, you can help clean since its mostly your mess, or you can pay rent like a tenant since youre acting like one. She said this isnt my house i dont own it which means I dont have to clean it. I said ok, rent it is. Keep in mind im legally blind, disabled and have a caregiver while i continue to recover. I am sitting here arguing with a 16, almost 17 yr old. A few months ago, my husband made a joke and I laughed and she got offended and upset and hit me in the face. I said that will be your one and only because the next time you do it, I will beat your ass, and throw you in jail. I told her battery and assault charges would be more severe because im disabled and legally blind. In our state, crimes against the elderly and disabled carry a heavier penalty. Its a 4th degree felony instead of a misdomenor. She was all youd put me in jail, im your kid. I said I dont give a shit who you are, actions have consequences.
