@psalm_onehundredten: Most men hear provide and think paycheck. Cover the bills, keep the lights on, job done. That was never the whole of it. Provision means your family has what they need, and what they need most is to be safe. If something went wrong tonight, could you actually do anything about it? Could you carry someone out? Could you make it a hundred yards without your body quitting on you? A lot of men have quietly decided that part doesn't apply to them anymore. They'd never skip a mortgage payment, but they've let the physical side of the job go completely and told themselves it's a separate thing. It isn't.
