@the_sarahe: Why can’t we add a million ETLs in MRI?  Guys I’m so tired as I make this comment for this video I’m falling asleep. Lol. #mri #mritech #radtech #radiology #teach

I absolutely love your videos! You make it seem so easy! I’m an MRI Coordinator at my hospital and I’m telling all my techs to follow you!

What does it do to image quality when adding echoes to the ETL? Does a T1 or T2 have more signal?

I'm in my externships for MRI and I LOOOVE your videos. They really help me grasp a lot of the physics and parameters so thank you for doing these!!

In the mean time…the patient is getting a bit hot with all of those 180 degree pulses! ♨️ahhh SAR, how you warm our hearts.

Also Higher ETL = faster scan, but lower SNR and more blurring due to T2 signal decay

Great tip! Another thing ELT is responsible of is your TE. The higher the ELT the longer it’s taking to acquire our echo. Like you said, it can change our image weighting and that’s exactly why. If you ran a 9 echo train on a T1 you’re now increasing T2 properties into the image due to longer minimum TE. Pretty cool stuff.

If you go too high on the ETL on a T2 do the images become less sharp?

You also introduce more artifacts and images become blurry. MRI techs need to know their parameters 😭

I’m an MRI student and your videos have been so helpful! Could you make a video explaining how you decide which MRI sequences to use for different exams? I’d love to learn your thought process.
