Crikey Moses… when it rains, it pours 🌧️🐨 As I came off long service leave for a five week stint to get on top of a few things in the wildlife space, I’ve been thrown straight back into five 12 hour day shifts plus the travel. Chuck in school holidays, all the critters, trying to get the bird aviary project off the ground, and running most of my social media and building the reels myself, everything gets a bit crazy. Funny how it always gets busiest when you’re already running on fumes. We did get a win though. Released one of our boobook owls 🦉 back into the wild. One of my favourite rescues so far. Then got the call for a koala, which we don’t get often. With help from some specialised koala legends, we rescued a mature female that had been tangled up with dogs for a couple of days. She’s looking promising 🙌 Not too stressed, just going through assessments now and hopefully back out where she belongs soon. Moments like that remind me why I do this, but juggling full time work and wildlife rescue isn’t easy. The cost of running a setup like this is huge. So thank you to every legend who has donated, bought merch, or helped out ❤️ It’s helped me cut back overtime and spend more time where it matters, with the animals and my family. Big goal ahead. 2027. I want to buy land and turn it into a protected wildlife reserve that can’t be developed and lasts for generations. Still learning the legal and financial side of it, but I’m getting there. If I got a dollar from each follower, I could secure a serious bit of land and create a safe space for these animals to get back into the wild properly. What do you reckon, would you back it? 🌱 Onya legends 🐻
