They’re adorable…I used to see them when I was in Oklahoma and always thought how cute they were. 40 years later, along came Poppy…now my scroll is flooded and I love it…bless you…

lkeat11 :

beautiful story and I'm glad this situation worked out for you and the prairie dogs. Unfortunately IT IS 98% of the time NOT the case. These are wild animals not domesticated pets like dogs and cats. Most ppl do not do enough research and adopt them because they're small and adorable. Although I loved seeing these adorable little guys and their interactions with you and your family I almost wish you didn't post it. I know you tell ppl to do their research unfortunately most do not. They only see an adorable affectionate little pet which it is NOT. No one has any business looking for a pet and randomly deciding to adopt Prairie dogs they ARE NOT PETS!

MickiD :

I'm thinking about it ❤️❤️

Anyone remember the Monkey pox outbreak in NYC back in 2003? The source was prairie dogs imported from out west and sold in city pet shops. In 2022 there were 3,821 recorded cases. responses were coordinated by the NYC Health department. Like the lady in the video says, do your research. PS prairie dogs can also harbor Bubonic plague.

Michelle Houston :

What a happy story😊
